I am using this space to announce the beginnings of a complete, uncut zombie survival guide that a friend and I are writing. It will include everything that has to deal with surviving the zombie apocaplyse. And it will include our sometimes twisted humor, as well as references to pop culture. (Expect a massive amount of Shaun references.)

So far we have begun researching the various weapons that could/will be used. This is, as of now, broken up into three different categories. The Melee section will include all the various melee weapons effective against zombies. It will include descriptions of the weapon, best place to find them, pros and cons, etc. The second section will be titled Ranged Weapons and will include everything from handguns to automatic rifles. Each of these subsections will include general descriptions of the type of weapon, pros and cons, where to find them, our recommendations for the category, and our advice on weapons to stay away from. Our third section will be titled "To Mess with the Zombies." I believe the title says it all for this section.

The next part of the Guide we've begun working on is the various types of zombies that have been "created" throughout the years, ranging from '78 Dawn of the Dead zombies to Resident Evil (Game version) zombies. This will include detailed descriptions, easiest way to kill them (Yes, we include the zombies that can be killed without bashing in the head...though that is still very effective and awesome), ways to escape from them, intelligence level, etc. Thus far we have discovered about 6-8 possible different kinds of zombies.

For the future we plan to have chapters dedicated to everything from shelters/fortresses, vehicles, whether or not staying mobile is the best choice, finding the right comrades, fighting techniques, a more in-depth escape section (for escaping those OMG! moments), and more.

It will, probably, be released sometime in the next couple of months and will most likely just be available for download or some other form of free distribution. I do want to mention, though, that if we could find a willing publisher, we would probably take that route considering we are both poor college students and could use any extra money. And if it is as big as we plan to make it, a printed book copy would be much nicer to read rather than printing off a lot of pages or staring at a computer screen.
